Battagram cable car rescue operation: 2 children rescued by SSG Commandos, operation continues


SSG commandos have rescued two children out of  eight people trapped in a chairlift at Pashto in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Battagram city, while the Pakistan Army's operation is underway to rescue the remaining people.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hazara Police Tahir Ayub confirmed that two children have been rescued.

How did the incident happen?

According to details, the children were going to their school by chairlift at 7 am when two of the three ropes of the elevator were broken and the chairlift was stuck at an altitude of about 900 feet, to rescue them, rescue operations have been going on for several hours.

According to the details, at 7 o'clock, the first one rope of the chairlift and then the second also broke, the chairlift went a mile and the first rope was broken.

An expert team of the Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army is taking part in the rescue operation, the ISPR said.

According to the ISPR, the rescue helicopter of the Pakistan Army is moving as it approaches the lift, which is likely to make the dolly unbalanced, now the remaining options of rescue operation are under consideration.
