| Dua Lipa Celebrates 8 Years of Debut Single ‘New Love’ |
Dua Lipa has every reason to rejoice, as her debut single "New Love" marks its eighth anniversary. This stands as a momentous landmark for the pop star, symbolizing the begining of her journey in the realm of pop music.
To honor this remarkable occasion, Lipa took to her Instagram Story on Monday, where she shared her exhilaration about "New Love" and extended her gratitude to those who played a part in crafting the track.
"8 Years ago I released my first song that I wrote with @wyattish [Andrew Wyatt] and @emilehaynie (and videos!)" Lipa's caption adorned a series of clips from the song's music video. "19-year-old me would be very happy to know we'd get this far."
Lipa's debut single, "New Love," made its appearance on her eponymous debut album, launched on June 2, 2017. Interestingly, the song had actually been released two years prior, in 2015, preceding the album's release. It marked the outset of eight singles from the album.
While "New Love" didn't secure a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, another song sporting "New" in its title left a substantial impact on the chart. "New Rules," which emerged as Lipa's seventh single, became her inaugural top 10 hit on the Hot 100, climbing to No. 6. Its presence endured on the chart for a total of 48 weeks.
