Asia Cup 2023: India qualifies for the Final, beating Sri Lanka by 41 runs in Super 4 match

India on Tuesday, made its way to the Asia Cup 2023 Final after defeating Sri Lanka in a rain-hit Super 4 match.

Chasing the 214 runs target, Sri Lanka team struggled from the start after losing too much early wickets. 

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav, took brilliant four wickets, giving only 43 runs to the opponent team.

Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeda took two wickets each while the in-form pacer Mohammed Siraj & Hardik Pandya took ine wicket each.

For Sri Lanka, Dananjaya de Silva (42) and Charith Asalanka (41) were the top scorers for Sri Lanka, while Sadeera Samarawickrama (22) and Kusal Mendis (17) were the top scorers.

With this win, India reached the Final of the Asia Cup.

The Indian team was dismissed for 213 runs in the 50th over, captain Rohit Sharma scored 53 runs.

Opener Shubman Gill was dismissed for 19 runs, Virat Kohli for 3, captain Rohit Sharma 53 runs and KL Rahul scored 39 runs. Ishan Kishan scored 33 runs, apart from this, no Indian batter could score more runs in front of Sri Lankan spinners.

After 47 overs, the match was stopped for a while due to rain, but after some time the game was resumed, but the entire Indian team was dismissed in 49.1 overs.

For Sri Lanka, young spinner Donith Velalage took five wickets, spinner Asa Lanka took four wickets while spinner Mahesh Thakshana took one wicket.

Apart from this, this was the first time that the entire Indian team was dismissed by spinners in an ODI match.
