Few hours before the official first trailer premier of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) an account that has since been suspended, posted the leak on X (formerly Twitter).

Rockstar Games quickly responded to the leak by publishing the trailer on its official YouTube channel. They tweeted: "Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube".

The trailer affirms various details regarding GTA 6 that have gradually surfaced over the past two years. This includes the confirmation of the Vice City setting and the revelation of the game's primary female protagonist, featuring a narrative inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, as reported by The Verge.

Another speculation about the game, validated in the trailer, is the planned release in 2025. In a subsequent press release on Monday, Rockstar specified that the game is slated for release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in that year.

Even if GTA 6's first trailer, after a decade in development, had simply presented the Roman numeral for six, it would likely have sparked extensive discussion and speculation for years, according to The Verge.

Fortunately, the trailer provides a more comprehensive preview, showcasing elements such as high-speed cars, intense gunplay, illicit wealth, and an American-style hedonistic backdrop set in Vice City—a fictionalized version of Miami.

The trailer revolves around a sole protagonist, Lucia, clad in a prison jumpsuit, expected to engage in criminal activities alongside her boyfriend after being released from jail.

The press release by Rockstar Games also offers a concise description of the game itself. It states, “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, featuring the neon-drenched streets of Vice City and beyond, marking the most significant and immersive evolution in the Grand Theft Auto series to date."

The revelation of GTA 6 has been marked by leaked information, with a UK teenager being responsible for last year's disclosure of 90 videos from the in-development process.
